On Friday, a supervisor at work gave me a gift card to Olive Garden as a "Thank You" for covering some different departments while we've been understaffed. Nice, right?
Closing line of the card? "Please remember that incentives are taxed. You will see that amount deducted on your February 4th paycheck."
So, basically, my paycheck will be less because I did something good.
Oh the life of a state worker :)

WAIT! So they took $25 out of your check to get you a gift card?!?
What ever happened to a "de minimus" benefit?

No, Steph. Sorry. I meant they took the tax out. So it won't be a big amount out of my check, but still...
Uncle Tim, that is a VERY good question. I'll look into it. Thanks :)
WHAT?? Ridiculous.
